Description for Hurricane Creek Park
This trail system includes a skills building area with as many wooden features as possible. The 3 mile loop on the North Ridge is a wide flowing singletrack which is well laid out with numerous optional features for Freeride of all levels.
The 3 mile loop on the south side is also wide flowing singletrack but it is x-county only.
The terrain of Hurricane Creek Park is very diverse and technical trails that would be a challenge for any mountain biker. It has been an extreme challenge for for the trail builders because of the steep terrain as well as existing property lines.
Hurricane Creek Park boasts having more wooden features than anywhere in the South East. Designing ridable trails in HCP has required over 40 bridges varying in width from 6 feet wide down to 6 inches wide.
Hurricane Creek Park is on a mission to become the premiere unique MTB destination in the South.
The Northridge / Northside Trail which is under construction will take you thru some of the most challenging & beautiful terrain in the area. The trail flows beside waterfalls & huge rock overhangs as it winds its way along the cliff sides to the biggest freeride drop in the south... The Reaper a 30 foot drop!
Hurricane Creek Park's facility for mountain biking is well appointed with a safe parking area, trail maps, a store selling refreshments and gear, a bike wash station, picnic area, and a creek-fed swimming hole. On Sunday's there is a bike shuttle back up out of the canyon to the parking lot.
There are plans in the works for a pump track with really big jumps on the Northside at the skills area.
