iPhone GPS apps? MtnBiker wrote:
Yeah MotionX needs to kill the fancy UI and go for Usability. I never got into Trails, no enough stats, though I love editing the paths when the GPS if off a bit or I took the wrong turn. Wish GPS Kit had a lite edition so you could try it the developers are working on a huge update for retina display and all, they live up in Utah near you I believe. I love the UI and the insane amount of customization and usability the app has.

So you say the one to try is GPS Kit? I'll have to look it up. I must say that after trying AccuTerra, I'm definitely hooked. It's gonna take awhile to get used to the features, but I was impressed by how many trails it already has marked, and the fact that you can use it with all the maps without cellular service is invaluable. I used that to map out Stump Jumper that I uploaded here to TrailFu.

Opinions on brakes That's good to hear! I found a pair of new Elixir Fives for $200, so I figured that was definitely worth it. I think I'm gonna throw my Hayes Nine on my Hardtail, and keep the Elixirs on my FS.

iPhone GPS apps? Yeah me and my Uncle were looking at the different choices for the GPS apps, and when he saw AccuTerra, he thought you had to buy the maps too. I have AccuTerra Unlimited, and I haven't seen anything you had to buy. The best thing about it is how high the resolution is on the maps. That and that it has many of the small trails that I've never seen on any other GPS app.

Red Bull Rampage I'm super stoked that me and my buddies get to head down to Virgin, Utah and see the insane stunts! Is anyone else around headed to Rampage? If you've never heard of it, here's the sight. Pretty sick stuff!

Red Bull Rampage Yeah man it was tight! We started talking with a guy named Nick, who turns out started the company Demon Dirt, so he brought us up to the all-access area on the finals! Here's a few shots we got:

Here's some of the pics of the stuff we were hitting out at the old Rampage site:

^This is the 10-12 foot drop that I took, and landed, but my pedals were kinda sketchy, and my bike went flying in another direction...

^Gee Atherton

^My buddy Norman with Gee.

This wasn't me taking the picture, but we are up by the lip because we were helping Romaniuk tack down his line before he hit it. It was an insane 45-foot gap!

Here's some of the videos that we took!

^Romaniuks crash

^The canyon gap

^Curtis Robinsons sweet drop.

^Bourdon's attempted flat spin

^Here's a compilation of the first day, I haven't gotten to making the final day yet.

^Here's my buddy hitting a 30-foot gap called Phil's Fillet.

Mount your iPhone? Hmm I've had the same thought, it'd be cool to video while you ride with your iPhone! But then I get thinking, is it really worth some sweet video to risk your iPhone? I have an iP4, so it'd be pretty costly to wreck (as I do often haha).

What I always do, is throw my iPhone in my pack and track it with AccuTerra, and I bought a cheap helmet cam. The quality isn't as good, but I'm not risking my $1k piece of technology...
