2012 and I still can't figure out how to add trail descriptions. Also is it possible to edit one's own review.

Truck Rack ?

I use a bike rack, like what you'd see in a park, in the back of my van. Holds 3 bikes well, but when there's only one it can flop sideways. Wide mountain bike tires fit, but narrow ones are loose. Overall, I don't recomend doing this. I need to rig something up to stabilize bikes with narrow tires or if I'm carrying just one. On the plus side, the tire holds the bike, so its quick to put a bike in and out of the van.

I am a big fan of 29er hardtails and ride a Niner Air9 most of the time. If I am riding a loop with as much climbing as descending, I am faster on my 29er hardtail. But when I want to have fun on the more techicnal trails I prefer to ride my 26er Yeti full suspension bike. The 26" wheeled bikes seem to be easier to jump and to flick around the turns to me. If you choose to test ride a 29er hardtail, make sure it is setup as tubeless. The tubeless tires allows lower PSI which makes a better ride and bite with less agressive tires...IMHO

Ok, so I went on a pretty intense ride today, and I have the Hayes Nine hydraulic brakes. I just gotta say, I'm not impressed. Hayes kinda sucked a big one on those.

Does anyone have any preferences when it comes to the brakes? From what my buddies say, Avid is the way to go. I had some cheap Tektro Aurigas on my other bike, and they were satisfactory.

The brakes I'm really wondering about are the Avid Elixir Fives. I just found some for cheap, and didn't want to pass them up so I bought them. Any reviews? Thanks!

Would it be possible to have a user rating system (like ebay) that only lets you post trails after you have ridden and reviewed trails. and you would be banned from posting after getting bad review on your trail?singletrack wrote:
If you add a new trail to the site, it will be validated and added to the next version of the app. What we have found is that adding trails from the phone means that people add a lot of garbage (my back yard jumps, etc), this clutters up the app and creates frustration when people drive to trails that don't actually exist. Our goal is simple in that we want to provide quick and easy access to legal trails that are open to the public. If you look at other sites there are tons of closed trails, trails that no longer allow biking, and garbage data that is difficult to search through.

If you can provide us with a reasonable argument as to why it would be a good function, we would be happy to add it. But keep in mind that a lot more data would appear in the app that may or may not be actual trails.

I just got a 2011 specialized stumpjumper comp 29 and am loving it! In the three months that I've had it, I've blown past my 26 buddies and only once have I encountered an obstacle they could tackle and j couldn't, a very tight turn on switchbacks. All specialized 2011 s are on closeout now, so go before they're all gone! The 2011 are better than the 2012 in my opinion.

These forums seem empty, but seeing if there is anyone from Santa Fe, NM that knows some of the local trails well and wouldn't mind showing and out of towner around for a few hours. Looking to ride Thursday the 29th of September, preferably in the morning. Thanks!

Seems like there are trails to ride on the island, but no good rental places in Corsica. We'd really like to do some riding but don't know if it's worth taking our bikes.
Any ideas?
