Bike Radar just did a review and did not give it much love, although I still really want to try it as well. If I ever build up a DH bike I will throw one on for sure, here is the review.

http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/groupset/mountain/product/hammerschmidt-am-gear-system-10-39463

The ham is an awsome crank set up. i have one on my wifes bike. cost is around 5-600 depending on where you go. Only down fall is when running in the "36" gear set u will noticed a fair bit of drag as the tolerances are very tight. Ground clearance is amazing cause it's slightly bigger than a stock 22 tooth ring, Heavier than most DH cranks, but who cares cause u can shift whenever, Standing still, back pedaling, or under power. Check with Sram first to c if it will work with your current frame. hope this helps ya out.

Any opinions on the Hammerschmidt? Referred to as the Hammer, Ham, or TH. I am an All Mountain rider and would like to know if the cost is worth the benefit on this? and If anyone else makes anything comparable?
